How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Designer Stubble Beard Shape
The great thing about growing a designer stubble beard is that it doesn’t take much time, and it’s a simple style that doesn’t take much effort to maintain.
1. Skip the razor for a few days.
If you’re starting from a clean-shaven face, step 1 is super easy. Just skip the razor for a few days and allow your facial hair to grow out to somewhere between 3 and 5 mm. For most guys, this will only take a week or two. If your facial hair starts feeling itchy during the growth stage, you can use a beard oil with soothing properties like this cool mint beard oil to stop the itch.
2. Trim up the area beneath your cheekbones.
This beard style needs less precision trimming, but you do want to keep the area below your cheekbones fairly short. Go with your closest trimmer attachment to stop your facial hair from creeping up too far on your face. If you want to keep that natural look, there’s no need to trim along the neckline.
3. Exfoliate several times a week.
This look can feel a bit itchy since you won’t be getting a close, clean shave daily. Be sure to use an exfoliating cleanser 2-3 times a week when washing your face in order to preven ingrown hairs.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect [TYPE]:
- Wild Willies Cool Mint Beard Oil: to stop the itch while your facial hair grows
- Wild Willies Tough Scrub: use 2-3 times per week to exfoliate and prevent ingrown hairs

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Petite Goatee
Growing a petite goatee can be easy if you follow these steps.
1. Grow Your Facial Hair
The first step in growing a petite goatee is to let your facial hair grow to about an inch or two from your jawline. This is a short style, but you may want to grow your hair out a little past your desired length. This will make it easier to trim and style in the next steps because you will have some facial hair to work with. If you have patchy hair growth, we recommend using a beard boost serum to help with the process.
2. Trim Your Goatee
Next, trim your goatee to the desired length using scissors and a comb. The petite goatee can be worn either long or short, depending on your hair growth pattern and preference. The main thing you want to keep in mind is to trim back the hair in a minimalist fashion. The soul patch should just be a small square or triangle under your bottom lip and then chin hair should only cover a small portion of your chin. Use a beard wash and conditioner to keep your petite goatee free from dirt and soft and manageable.
3. Maintenance
The last phase of an awesome petite goatee is keeping well maintained. A healthy goatee starts from the inside. Getting rest, as well as proper nutrition, will help you have a healthy-looking beard for years to come. Also, make sure to keep your beard manageable by brushing it every day and using beard oil or butter to keep it looking fly.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Rap Industry Standard Beard Shape
Take the following steps to grow out your rap industry standard beard.
1. Grow A Goatee
The first step that you need to take is to grow a goatee. That means growing the facial hair around your chin and lips while shaving off the hair on the neck and jawline. For now, you can grow a full beard, and we will show you how to shave the unwanted parts in the next couple of steps. If you have trouble growing adequate facial hair, try some daily beard supplements that naturally promote hair growth.
2. Trim The Facial Hair
The next step you want to take is to trim down the hair. Typically, this style has shorter hair for the goatee, so you will want to trim it down to half an inch or less. You can use a beard trimmer or a comb and scissors. Take the comb and only allow the hair through that you want to trim. Then use the beard trimmer or scissors to clip off the excess hair. It takes practice but eventually, you can get the right size through the comb over time. We recommend picking up a grooming set with everything you need to trim and style your beard.
3. Shave And Style
Finally, you will want to shave off the unwanted areas and style the rap industry standard beard the way you want. If you grabbed the grooming set, it will have a razor and beard-shaping tool that will make this a breeze. Lather up your facial hair with a good shave lube. Then place the beard-shaping tool against your face to cut even lines. Shave around the contours or hard edges of the tool so that your lines are nice and clean. Finally, rinse your face and apply a dab of beard oil to keep it hydrated and moisturized.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect rap industry standard beard:

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Sideburns Shape
Growing out just your sideburns can be a fun and rewarding experience. Here are the steps to make it happen.
1. Grow Out The Sideburns
The first step, of course, is to begin growing out your sideburns. Depending on if you’re going for a cleaner look or a more unruly look will determine how long your sideburns should be. That means they can be anywhere from half an inch to more than four inches in length. Regardless, ensure that you grow them half an inch past their final length. This will give you room to work with and make it possible to trim them for an even look.
2. Shave Off Unwanted Hair
Next, you will need to shave off the hair that connects to your chin hair. The key to a good sideburn look is to let it be the star of the show. You can grow a goatee if you’d like. Just make sure that the goatee and sideburns do not touch. Pick up a grooming kit and use the razor and a good shave lube to remove the unwanted hair. Lather your face with the shave lube, shave off the hair around your jawline and neck, and then rinse.
3. Trim And Style The Sideburns
Finally, you will want to trim the sideburns and style them however you see fit. Use a beard trimmer or comb and scissors from the grooming kit to cut the facial hair uniformly. You can also use the included beard-shaping tool to finish shaving and cleaning up your sideburn lines. We also recommend investing in a good beard brush and beard butter to give your sideburns a smooth and soft feel.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect sideburns:
- The Expert Grooming Kit: Contains everything you need to shape and style your sideburns, including a razor, scissors, beard brush, comb, and beard-shaping tool.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect 70’s Mustache Shape
You have a little bit of leniency when growing out a ’70s mustache, but there are some steps you will still want to keep in mind when growing one.
1. Grow Out The Stache
The first thing you obviously must do is grow the mustache out. A 70’s mustache tends to be a little thicker and extends past the sides of the lips. When growing it out, you should aim for half an inch to an inch or more. If you are struggling to get a nice-looking mustache, then try some daily beard gummy supplements. They do a great job of boosting hair growth and making it nice and thick.
2. Trim And Style
Next, you will want to trim and style the mustache to your liking. There’s no definitive look, but they often are thicker and well-groomed. A grooming kit will help out here because they contain everything you need to take care of your mustache. Use the scissors, comb, and brush to trim back unwanted hair and brush the hairs uniformly in one direction. The hairs on the sides of the mouth can be anywhere from the top lip to the jawline.
3. Keep It Lookin’ Groovy
Finally, make sure that you are nurturing your new 70s mustache. You can use beard shampoo and conditioner to keep it clean and then apply beard oil to keep it hydrated. This will ensure that the mustache doesn’t become too hard or brittle over time. We recommend doing this at least once every day or every two days.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect 70’s mustache:
- Beard Growth Gummies Supplements: Take these daily to help grow your facial hair with the vitamins and nutrients it needs to stay healthy.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Painter’s Brush Shape
Here are the steps to get the painter’s brush shape for you to grow.
1. Start With A Large Mustache
To begin, you will need to grow out a more prominent mustache. The painter’s brush style is known for being thicker and longer. The length of the facial hair simulates that of a paintbrush, so you need to make sure you have at least an inch or two to get the right look. You can apply beard serum daily to your facial hair to help them grow if you’re having trouble with that.
2. Trim The Hair Down
The next thing you need to do is trim the hair as it grows out. The hairs of a paintbrush are uniform and straight, so it’s important to try and mimic this by keeping the mustache trimmed. You can use a beard trimmer or scissors to cut back the hair as it grows out. Doing so will promote growth in the hair. Ensure you get it to that one to two-inch mark once trimmed.
3. Shape The Painter’s Brush
Finally, you will need to shape the painter’s brush. The style has a hard line going across the bottom of the mustache. You can hold a beard-shaping tool to the mustache to get a straight line. Then use the scissors to cut against the tool, following its edge. Once you get the shape, add some beard butter and use a brush to get the hairs going in the same direction. The butter will keep the hair hydrated and soft.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect painter’s brush:
- Beard Boost Serum: This serum is designed to help you grow your facial hair quicker and thicker.
- The Edge Beard Shaping Tool: A convenient tool that helps you get clean edges and straight lines when styling.
- Beard Butter - Cool Mint: Refreshing beard butter that moisturizes your facial hair and keeps it from getting brittle.
