How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Short Boxed Beard Shape
Growing a short boxed beard doesn’t have to be complicated, as long as you follow the right steps and use the best facial hair products. Here is how to grow one out.
1. Grow A Short, Groomed Beard
To grow the best-boxed beard that you can, you will first need to start out with a solid beard. You can take beard growth supplements and beard serum (for the patchy areas) to help you grow a thicker, fuller beard. Once your beard has grown half an inch to two inches, you will want to trim it with a beard trimmer or scissors. For this style, you need to keep those hairs short and uniform.
2. Shave Along The Chin Line And Neck Line
After your beard is trimmed and looking fresh, it’s time to shave off the unwanted hair and clean up those lines. A professional razor and beard-shaping tool will make the process smoother for you. Lather up your face with shaving lube, then place the shaving tool along your chin line. You can use the edges to get a nice, sharp square connecting your chin hairs with your sideburn hairs. Then use the tool again to shave the bottom of your neckline to have a professional look.
3. Keep The Beard Well-Maintained And Healthy
Finally, you will want to maintain your beard with healthy, natural products. Using shampoo and conditioner for your beard will keep it clean and soft. Then rub in a nice beard butter to give your facial hair the moisture and nutrients it needs to look healthy and vibrant. You can also shape your hair in the direction you want with a beard brush.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect short boxed beard:
- Beard Growth Kit: Contains both supplements and serum to promote a healthy, full beard.
- The Trendsetter Grooming Kit: Comes with everything you need, including shampoo and conditioner, to keep your beard soft and fresh.
- Beard Butter and Brush Combo Set: Treat your facial hair to a creamy butter that hydrates and a beard brush to tame those unruly hairs.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Royal Beard Shape
Follow these steps to achieve the royale beard style with or without the chin strap.
1. Trim up all your beard hairs.
Trim up your entire beard so there is consistency in the length. We recommend anywhere from a 4-6 mm attachment on your trimmer.
2. Define your goatee.
Next you’ll want to use a razor or your trimmer without an attachment to define the goatee shape. Remove a small space between your mustache and your chin on either side.
3. Straighten up the chin strap, if you’re keeping it.
If you want to go with the chin strap look, shave the rest of your face with a razor, leaving only the area around your chin. Be sure to use a good shave lube to prevent razor burn. Be sure to always use fresh blades when you shave.
4. Moisturize your face.
Finish off with a daily moisturizer that will protect your skin and keep it hydrated. We recommend always using a moisturizer with SPF to prevent sun damage.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Hulihee Beard Shape
Here are the steps to grow your Hulihee beard with a little bit of time and patience:
1. Grow a large beard
To begin, grow out a full-sized beard. You can have shorter hairs in the beginning, but eventually, you’ll need long hairs along your chin line that signifies this beard style. We recommend getting at least 2” to 4” hairs for the best effect. If you are starting from scratch, try adding a beard growth supplement to your daily vitamin routine to kickstart growth.
2. Trim and shape the beard.
Use a beard-shaping tool to help style your beard while shaving. This beard type has a nice uniform look even though the side hairs will eventually furl outward. Shave your cheeks and neckline to give it a sharper look.
3. Shave off the chin hairs.
Next, you will need to shave off the hairs on your chin to get the right look. Use a razor to remove everything from the neckline up to your lips. Some might leave a little bit of a soul patch but generally speaking; you will want to keep it low-cut or remove it completely. A good rule of thumb is to shave to the width of your lips.
4. Grow and brush out the neckline
Continue to grow out your chin line hair while grooming and styling the beard correctly. As these hairs grow longer and longer, you need to brush them outwards for the signature Hulihee beard style. You can also use a beard butter to help shape your beard in the direction you need it to go.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect Hulihee beard:

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect 5 O’clock Shadow
Growing a 5 o’clock shadow is quick and easy. The most important thing is to take good care of your skin so it looks clean and well-maintained.
1. If you have a beard, shave it off.
If you’ve been working on a longer beard style, it’s going to need to go. We recommend shaving it completely with a razor. Don’t forget to use a good shave lube in order to minimize knicks and cuts or the dreaded razor burn.
2. Skip shaving on day 2 and maybe day 3.
The 5 o’clock shadow looks best after a day or two of growth. While you won’t have to worry about shaving for a day or two, you should still cleanse your face daily with a facial cleanser and use a moisturizer to prevent itchy, dry skin.
3. Maintain your stubble by keeping it trimmed up.
There’s a fine line between an intentional 5 o’clock shadow and looking like you just forgot to shave for a while. Keep your stubble in check by using your trimmer with one of the lowest guards (usually a 0 or 1) every 2-3 days.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect 5 o’clock shadow:
- Wild Willies Shave Lube: to prevent knicks, cuts, and razor burn

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Anchor Beard Shape
Follow these steps to get the perfect anchor beard.
1. Even out your beard hair length.
An anchor beard can look good with anything from a few days’ worth of stubble up to an inch or so in length. The important thing is to even out the length of your beard so it’s uniform throughout. You can use scissors and a comb, or you can use your trimmer. This grooming kit contains scissors, a comb, and a shaping tool to help you achieve a uniform length.
2. Shape your mustache.
You have a few options here for how you’d like to shape your mustache. Keep it straight across, angle it down, or flip it up at the sides; whatever you prefer. If you’re going to flip it up at the sides, use a beard butter to shape the sides.
3. Shape the “anchor.”
Next, you’ll need to use your razor or your trimmer without a guard to shape the anchor on your chin. You can make the anchor part as narrow or wide as you’d like, but a good rule of thumb is to leave about a 1” section of hair directly below the center of your lip. Then, keep some hair along your chin, going about as far out as your mustache or just a bit further. Be sure to use a shave lube to get a close shave.
4. Maintain your beard.
Maintain your beard by continuing to shave the negative space every day or so, and keep your facial hair uniform in length by trimming it up as needed. Be sure to wash your face daily and then moisturize with a soothing moisturizer that will keep your face and beard hair healthy and smooth.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect [TYPE]:

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Short Round Beard Shape
As its name indicates, a short round beard should be on the shorter side, meaning you can grow it out in less time than some other styles. Follow these steps to achieve the short round beard style.
1. Grow out your beard and mustache.
You need a mustache to balance out the short round beard, and we think a thick, full beard looks best. For optimal growth, we suggest using a growth serum along with a derma roller, which can increase the absorption of the growth serum by up to 500%. To use the derma roller, simply press it against clean skin and roll it up and down across your face after applying the growth serum.
2. Maintain the short length.
As your mustache begins to grow, you can keep it trimmed right above the lipline with a pair of trimming scissors from a grooming kit. To keep the short length of this beard style, use a trimmer or a pair of grooming scissors every week or so to keep your beard at a length of about 1”.
3. Keep your neckline clean.
On a round face, stubble that extends down your neckline isn’t a good look. Use a shave lube and a razor to keep the area below your chin stubble-free. If you’re using a safety razor, be sure to replace the blade at least once a week to keep it from getting dull.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect short round beard:
- Growth Serum: to jumpstart your beard growth
- Derma Roller: to increase absorption of growth serum
- Grooming Kit: includes trimming scissors and everything else you need to get a great beard
