What exemplifies status and style more than the Hollywoodian beard? A favorite among actors, let’s look at what goes into growing this beard style.
Our Favorite Celebs With a Hollywoodian Beard
The Hollywoodian beard is a well-groomed, full beard that attaches to the mustache. It has a broad chin strap that comes to a thinner point at the end of the chin. The neck hairs and chin line can be cut back or can be let run wild. Here are some examples of Hollywood’s finest rockin’ this style.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Hollywoodian Beard Shape
You want to grow a Hollywoodian beard that is full, maintained, and styled correctly. These steps will help you do just that.
1. Grow out a full beard and mustache.
The first thing you need is a nice powerful beard. A good beard serum has natural ingredients like caffeine and biotin that can help you grow your beard while providing the nutrients it needs. Depending on how fast your hair grows, this may take a few weeks to a month or so.
2. Maintain and groom the hollywoodian beard.
As your beard grows, ensure that you maintain it daily. Shave away the areas below your cheekbone daily, use beard scissors to cut away any excess or flyaway hairs. You can also use a trimmer to keep the sides of your beard a little bit shorter than the chin area.
3. Use the right products to keep your beard looking well-groomed.
Brush your beard daily with a beard brush to keep it free from tangles. Then, use a beard oil to moisturize and hydrate your skin and facial hair.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect Hollywoodian beard:
- The Trendsetter Grooming Kit: Everything that you need to keep a beard that is well-maintained.
- Beard Brush: A nice brush will make it easy to keep that beard looking sharp and pulled to the front for a true Hollywoodian style.
- Beard Oil - Original: Essential oils for your beard will help keep it hydrated so that it doesn’t turn hard and brittle. You can also get this oil in a cool mint for a cooling feel.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Braided Beard Style
As you can see, there are a number of ways to rock a braided beard. We’re going to show you how to grow and maintain a long braided beard like you see with the hipster style.
1. Grow a super long beard.
If you want to try a braided beard, we’re going to assume you already have a decent start on a long beard. Now, keep growing it. Like, for a long time. To get this look right, you’ll need a good 12 inches or so of hair below your chin. With a beard this long, it’s important to keep your hair healthy to prevent dryness and breakage. Your daily skincare routine should include a beard shampoo, a conditioner, and a beard oil to hydrate and soften your facial hair.
2. Trim up the sides.
You want the sides of your beard to be long, but not quite as long as the part directly below your chin. After your sides have grown out 5 or 6 inches, you can start trimming them up as needed so your facial hair angles downward toward your chin. You can use trimming scissors to keep the side length in check.
3. Braid your hair.
Once you get enough length below your chin, you can braid the hair. Start by using a beard brush to brush your hair downward and remove any tangles. Then, section it off into three equal sections, and then begin weaving them together, placing one section on top of the other until you reach the end.
4. Add some bling.
If you really want to be extra, you can add a bead to the end, like you see in some of the photos above. Then, tie it off with a rubber band.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect braided beard:
- PROGRO Beard Shampoo & PROGRO Beard Soft Conditioner: to cleanse and soften facial hair.
- Wild Willies Beard Oil: to hydrate your beard.
- Beard Brush: to style and remove tangles.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Split Beard Shape
The split beard can be a fun endeavor. These are the steps to grow one out yourself.
1. Grow Out A Long Beard
The first thing you need to do to grow out a split beard is grow a long beard. To get the effect, you will need to grow a beard at least two inches or more in length. This will give you plenty of facial hair to split apart. Otherwise, you won’t have enough hair, and the look won’t come out right. Use beard serum daily to help grow a full and healthy beard.
2. Add Beard Butter And Balm
As your beard grows, you should apply beard butter and balm once or twice a day. These products will keep your beard soft and healthy while taming it into shape. Just rub the butter and balm into your beard, typically after you have shown up or before bed. This will ensure that the beard stays hydrated throughout the night.
3. Straighten And Style
Along with applying the butter and balm, it’s a good idea to straighten it out. A beard straightener will allow you to tame those unruly beard hairs in the shortest amount of time. The temperature knob will let you adjust the heats based on your hair quality.
Then use a beard brush in combination with the butter and balm to shape the beard. Brush it outwards until you have a uniform shape. Once you do, find the center point of your beard and separate the hairs. This can be done with a comb by sliding the long end of the comb through the center of the beard. Then use the comb, a brush, or hands to pull the two halves away. There you have it, a split beard!
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect split:
- Beard Boost Serum: Contains all-natural ingredients that promote a healthy and full beard.
- Beard Butter Balm & Brush Combo Set: Helps keep your beard hydrated while allowing you to shape and style it the way you want.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Bushy Mustache Shape
If you want to learn how to grow out your bushy mustache, then check out the following steps to get started.
1. Grow A Thick Mustache
The first step is to get a thick bushy mustache growing. Depending on how long your facial hair takes to grow, it may take a couple of weeks. Since it’s bushy, you don’t have to worry about brushing or trimming it too often. If you are experiencing difficulty growing your bushy mustache, try taking daily beard growth supplements to aid you.
2. Shave Extra Facial Hair
Next, you will want to shave the unwanted hairs around your chin, cheeks, and neck. You can opt to have a full beard with a bushy mustache, but shaving it off will amplify the power of the mustache. Make sure you use a quality razor and shave lube so you don’t have a rash or irritated skin. Wet your face with warm water, lather it up with the shaving cream, shave everything but the mustache, and then rinse with cold water for a nice clean shave.
3. Maintain A Healthy Mustache
Just because you have a bushy mustache doesn’t mean the hair should be hard, brittle, or flaky. You will still want to maintain a healthy routine for cleaning and moisturizing your mustache. That means using shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer daily, so the facial hair stays clean and healthy.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get the perfect bushy mustache:
- Beard Growth Supplements: This has vitamins and minerals your facial hair needs to grow thick and strong.
- Shave Lube: This will keep your skin hydrated and refreshed without causing razor burns or bumps.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Full Beard Shape
Growing out your facial hair takes time, especially if you're starting from scratch. But the process of growing out a full beard is pretty straightforward:
1. Let your hair grow.
This one seems pretty obvious, but you have to let your hair grow for a period of time. Beard hair tends to grow a little bit faster than the hair on your scalp, and you can expect your beard to grow by an inch every 2-4 months.
2. Use the right products.
The difference between a good-looking beard and a patchy beard or unkempt look comes down to the beard products you use. We recommend cleansing your face daily with a facial cleanser or beard wash to keep hair follicles and pores from becoming clogged and using a quality beard oil to keep your beard hair soft and tame.
As you're in the beginning stages of growing a full beard, you probably don't need a beard brush, but as it gets longer, this may be a worthwhile investment, too.
Here are some of our favorite product recommendations to help you get this facial hair style:
- Wild Willies True Cleanse Daily Face Wash: to keep your skin clean and free from clogged pores
- Wild Willies Original Beard Oil: to keep your beard looking smooth
- BONUS: Wild Willies Beard Growth Supplements: for those who are just a little bit impatient and want to speed up the growth process.
3. Keep it defined.
You don't want a scruffy beard while you're trying to grow it out, so be sure to keep it trimmed daily or every other day, depending on how quickly your hair grows. Be sure to shave your neck line and cheek lines to keep your growing beard looking well-groomed.
4. Trim it up as needed.
Yes, you need to let your beard grow, but you also need to keep your facial hair trimmed in order to get the shape and style you want. This means trimming up any stray hairs that have gone awry, and maintaining the overall oval shape of the beard. You may need to keep it shorter in some places, like around your cheeks, and longer around the chin. The Edge Beard Shaping Tool is a simple but effective tool that will give you precise lines around your cheeks and neckline and will help you trim up the sideburns and maintain symmetry while your beard grows.

How to Grow and Maintain the Perfect Winter Beard Shape
Growing a winter beard isn’t too difficult, but you will want to get started ahead of the season. Here are the steps to grow your own winter beard.
1. Grow Out a Big Beard and Start Soon
The first step to growing a winter beard is getting it as big as possible. Remember, these beards are designed to fill your entire face and neckline with lots of hair. Depending on how fast your facial hair grows, you must give ample time to let that beard get nice and thick. Start the process early, say in the summer, so you’ll be ready when winter does arrive.
2. Nurture the Growth with Supplements
As you grow out your winter beard, you need to make sure that you are providing it with the right nutrients and minerals it needs. Daily supplements give your facial hair the best chance of growing healthy and looking its best. You can also use a beard serum to thicken and enhance your beard even more.
3. Trim and Style Your Winter Beard
Once your beard starts getting long, you must trim and style it to maintain a proper look. You can use scissors and a comb to trim your hair to a uniform length. The key here is to not chop off too much hair, or you’ll set yourself back timewise. You just want to get it down to an even length that looks nice. Use a beard-shaping tool and razor to shave along the cheek and bottom necklines. A beard straightener also works well because you’ll get a straight, styled beard as it grows.
4. Continue to Grow and Maintain
From here, you will just want to grow out and maintain your winter beard to the desired length you’re looking for. There is no set limit for length, but generally speaking, you will want it at least two inches for a nice full beard and no more than 6-8 inches long if you want to keep a traditional-looking winter beard. However, feel free to grow it as long as you’d like. As long as it covers your face from the snow, it’ll work.
