Feet sweating is a common problem for most men, especially during summer. It's uncomfortable and can be embarrassing -- not to mention gross! But don't worry, bud, because there are some things you can do to end the suffering. Here, we’ll show you some easy tips on how you can get rid of sweaty feet.
7 Easy and Simple Steps To Eliminate Feet Sweating
Step 1: Wash Your Feet Thoroughly Every Day
This step is very basic, and washing your feet should already be part of your shower routine. Just switch to an antibacterial soap if you're not on it yet since it will fight off bacteria better. When washing your feet, remember to scrub the gaps between your toes with soap thoroughly.
Even if you don't take a shower daily, you still need to get off your butt and wash your feet with soap and warm water. Daily. This prevents fungi and bacteria from developing, which causes your feet to sweat and stink.
Step 2: Allow Your Feet To Dry
One reason your feet are sweaty is you’re not letting them dry completely before wearing socks. After washing your feet, wipe them with a clean, dry towel. If you're in a rush, you can also use a hairdryer to dry your feet entirely before putting socks on. If you've got all the time in the world, nothing beats a few good minutes of air drying. This lessens chances of bacterial growth on your feet.
Step 3: Rub Some Deodorant On The Soles Of Your Feet
Deodorants are not just for the pits since they can be used on other parts of the body too. If your feet sweat a lot, you can use spray-type deodorants on the soles of your feet before putting socks on.
Note though that you should use an antiperspirant deodorant for best results. The ingredients you must look for in a deodorant are aluminum chloride or aluminum zirconium.
Step 4: Choose Breathable and Absorbent Socks
The socks you put on also factors into making (or not making) sweaty and stinky feet. When choosing socks, go for hygiene, too, and not just swagger. Get those made from synthetic fabrics like polyester because they have better breathability and moisture absorption than cotton and nylon socks.
Step 5: Select Shoes With More Breathability
The material your shoes are made from can also trigger feet sweating, especially when it's hot out. Choose kicks made with breathable materials, like mesh or knitted fabrics, or those with sweat absorption technology as they're designed with a better airflow system. Avoid sneakers that don’t have some sort of airflow system. Also, try rotating your Timbs and Airs daily to let each pair dry completely between uses.
Step 6: Change Your Socks Daily
Even if your socks still feel “clean” after your first use, you shouldn’t wear them again the next day. Doing this regularly will develop bacterial growth on your feet, especially if you got the juicys. Don’t forget to wash your socks regularly, too.
Step 7: Always Bring An Extra Pair of Socks Wherever You Go
If your socks already feel damp within the day, change into a new pair as soon as possible. Don't be caught dead without a pair of socks in your car, office, or briefcase.
Here's a video of Dr. Larry Huppin from Foot & Ankle Center of Washington talking about severe feet sweating treatment:
Feet sweating can be prevented if you follow these simple and easy steps. Bacterial growth is the primary cause of sweaty and stinky feet, so avoid any scenario that will allow this to happen. Maintaining good hygiene is the key to get rid of sweaty feet. Make it a habit to keep your feet and footwear clean for sweaty feet to bother you no more. Stay cool as always!
